​What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

​Chiropractic manipulation, also known as spinal manipulation or chiropractic adjustment, is a treatment option to improve pain and joint range of motion. Chiropractic adjustments are done in several different ways.

Manual Adjusting - This is a hands-on method of spinal manipulation. There are many forms of manual adjusting, Gonstead, Diversified, and Thompson to name a few. We use a combination of all these methods to decrease pain and improve joint motion. ​​​​​​​​​​​​

Flexion/Distraction - Flexion-distraction therapy is a non-invasive technique that uses a specially designed table to stretch the spine and surrounding muscles gently, which decompresses the spine.

 

Mechanical Adjusting - This type of manipulation applies a gentle force with a small device to increase the joint range of motion. The tool allows for greater control and specificity when selecting the amount of pressure required.
